What is the MLA Updates event about?
MLA Updates will be a day of presentations, displays and demonstrations bringing levy payers up to speed on MLA and ISC investments and progress against our Strategic Plan 2025. It is important for MLA to provide an update on how our investments are creating positive impact for the red meat industry and enable stakeholders to interact with MLA staff.

What is the theme ‘creating value across the supply chain’ about?
This year’s MLA Updates theme focuses on our key research, development and marketing investments creating value from paddock to plate. From genetic gains on-farm to improved meat eating quality for our consumers, we’re demonstrating the benefits producers’ levy dollars are creating right through the supply chain.

Where is the event being held?
The event will be held in the Centenary Pavilion at the Claremont Showgrounds, 1 Graylands Road, Claremont, WA.

How long does the event run for?
MLA Updates is a one-day event. Registrations will open at 8:00am.
Formalities will occur from 9:00am–4pm, concluding with a sundowner networking session from 4:00pm. -

- Networking: Catch up with producers, stakeholders and MLA staff at our sundowner event, all while sampling delicious red meat canapés.

Who will be presenting in the morning plenary session?
MLA Managing Director Michael Crowley will provide an update on program highlights and MLA’s strategic planning process. Wayne Crofts, CEO Craig Mostyn Group, is our guest keynote speaker. Following Wayne’s address will be a panel session including:
- Ben Dwyer, Harvest Road
- Graeme Howie, Dorper Lamb
- Belinda Lay, Coolindown Farms
- Michael Crowley, MLA Managing Director.

What can we see being demonstrated?
Attendees will see interactive demonstrations showcasing MLA’s research, development and adoption (RD&A) programs, marketing and insights, as well as those of its subsidiary, Integrity Systems Company (ISC). These showcases will include information and displays centred around the following :

- beef & sheep sustainability framework
- environmental credentials & CN30 emissions
- marketing & market insights
- R&D in action
- technologies on-farm
- genetics
- electronic National Vendor Declaration (eNVD)
- meat Standards Australia (MSA)
- value-added products
- live export (LEP)
- government and industry bodies
MLA Product & Business Development Manager and Corporate Chef, Sam Burke, along with Raf Raminez and David Packer, will also be delivering a guided MSA butchery breakdown for transforming trends into menus.

How do I register?
Registrations are now open until the day of the event. The event is free to attend. Register using the gold button below:
Each attendee should complete their own registration as this will ensure the organisers have the correct information for seating allocations and catering purposes. The preference is for everyone to register themselves, however you can register for others if they agree to provide you with their email address and agree to the terms and conditions of registration. Each registration will receive an email confirmation to the email supplied, including a calendar placeholder for the day.

Once the event is over, will I have access to the materials and recordings of the presentations?
Yes. You will receive an email following the event which will include links to recordings of each presentation at the event, along with some other useful resources. Recordings of presentations will also be available at updates.mla.com.au

I am not an MLA member; can I still register?
Yes. All are welcome to attend.

Will there be parking onsite on the day?
Yes, there is ample free parking available. MLA staff will be on hand to direct cars.
